Whew, I finally found a few extra minutes to be able to sit down and get the final results up here and give all the racers and sponsors their props. And once again the weather was less than ideal, but we still managed to get the job done and have a great time anyway. :-) I'm gonna keep it short and sweet, as the time I have to dedicate to this right now is extremely limited. Wow, it looks like all that time Al Sodano spent helping to build our track a few years ago really paid off, as he seemed to know exactly where every single bump and rut was located, and managed to avoid them all in his drive to victory in both the Expert Nitro Truck A-Main and the Mod Truck A-Main. Good thing he didn't run a buggy too. Jeez, that boy was fast and very, very smooth. Thanks to the likes of Associated, Trinity, Pro-Line and Losi, we were able to have a great drawing of door prizes for all of the drivers that had entered. Due to their generosity, everyone was able to go home with an absolute ton of swag. I personally got myself a bottle of fuel and a ton of brushes that I know will get put to good use next year. Expert Nitro Truck The Expert Nitro Truck A-Main was a hard fought battle from start to finish between Al Sodano and TQ John Gay, with a margin of victory of just 1.5 seconds that played out with a tooth and nail battle going on for the entire length of the ten minute long A-Main. Names in Blue denote the top qualifier for that class.
Mod Truck In the Mod Truck A-Main Al Sodano once again proved to all the he was the Man-Of-The-Day by laying down the smack and walking away with a win, despite the hard charging efforts of TQ and second place finisher, local fast guy Ed Opel. Names in Blue denote the top qualifier for that class.
Mod Buggy The Mod Buggy A-Main proved to be the closest race of the day, with first place finisher Ray Godown barely, and I mean barely edging out second place finisher Ed Opel by just over .5 seconds! Those two guys had a race going on out there that would rival anything seen at a national level, and was one of the best races I've ever seen at our track. I'd like to extend a special note of accomplishment to Stewart Gassert for setting a personal best of six laps. Hey Stewart, when you get yourself that new B4, I expect to see at least 7 laps, okay? :-) Names in Blue denote the top qualifier for that class.
These are all video captures taken from my camcorder, so the quality isn't the best, but they're still pretty cool. Enjoy! :-) Click on this link to check out the videos. |
